About Los Bandidos del Arte

Born in Habana, Nicolas Guillen 4th, is a Miami, FL based visual artist & photographer.  The range of Nicolas’ work is truly panoptic; whether depicting a gritty street scene or a celestial dreamscape, his vision is distinct.  Nicolas' career as a visual artist and photographer began while attending the prestigious Cuban Institute of Art & Cinematography ("ICAIC") in Habana, Cuba.

Nicolas is the manifestation of a long lineage of artists, ranging from Nicolas Guillen, the national poet of Cuba, to his father, Nicolas Guillen Landrian, a pioneer of Cuban cinematography as well as a renowned painter.  Nicolas’ background in cinematography is clearly evident in the composition of his pieces. He views photography as the ideal medium in which to translate his intense visual realm and perspective.  His current works have led him to reexplore his past in Habana, allowing him to contextualize the familiar, the distant, or both.

Jennifer Johnson, who grew up in NJ/NYC, is Miami-based creative that uses writing, photography, creative direction and visual art collectively as her vehicles of expression.  With a background on Wall Street, she left her career in finance to pursue her passions in the art world.  As co-founder of Los Bandidos del Arte, her entrepreneurial aspirations came to fruition and she has been the driving force behind many subsequent projects.

Jennifer graduated from the School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University with a BSFS.  She has spent time residing in NYC, Washington DC, Miami and Tokyo.  Her background in International Politics and diplomacy have provided her with the experience and desire to both travel and document the world through an artistic lens.
